NEW DELHI: With the CBSE informing its coverage for the analysis of Class 12 pupils, Delhi University’s behaving vice-chancellor PC Joshi on Thursday said matters have become clearer for a huge chunk of students seeking to begin college this season.
He stated while the Education Ministry is to have a call on embracing a Central Faculties Common Entrance Exam (CUCET), DU will be very likely to begin the admission registration procedure by mid-July.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) before on Thursday advised its coverage for the test of Class 12 pupils that will be determined by a mix of marks conducted in courses 10 and 11 and also pre-board assessments.
It stated the results will likely be announced from July 31.

As stated by the policy determined with a 13-member panel setup from the board, the concept newspaper test formula provides 30 percent weightage to Class 10 marks, 30 percent to Class 11 marks and 40 percent to marks acquired in unit test/mid-term/pre-board tests in Class 12.

“Matters have become clearer to get a huge chunk of candidates.
I believe that considering this, additional boards will pick (their test standards ),” Joshi said.

Joshi stated DU plans to begin the admission registration procedure by mid-July.
“I believe at the end of July planks will begin announcing outcomes.
We had a meeting and we aim to begin registrations from mid-July,” he explained.
The tests for Class 12 were cancelled earlier this month in light of the next wave of this COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking about the CUCET,” Joshi didn’t rule out its own adoption.
“The Education Ministry hasn’t yet decided on it.
There’s always a chance of (embracing ) that the CUCET,” said Joshi, who’s a part of this CUCET committee that has filed its report on the Education Ministry.
In case the government makes the decision to embrace the CUCET, then it’ll be useful.
If it doesn’t occur this season, the marks provided by the planks will be thought.
Each year, a merit-based list is made and that’s the way it’ll be performed this season also, ” he added.
