Maya Angelou became the first black woman who appeared on US coins

Mint As has begun launching a quarter that featured the final writer of America and Maya Angelou activist, the first black woman to appear in the coin.
This coin is part of the American Women’s Quarter Program, said Mint as.
Angelou rose to an international advantage after his innovative autobiography publication, “I know why the birds are locked in singing,” with the story of rape and racism that did not lie in the south.
At the age of 7, Angelou was raped by his mother’s boyfriend, who was later beaten to death in the attack that some of which were believed to be carried out by Angelou’s Uncle.
Trauma rape and the death of his attacker left Angelou Mute for six years.
He began writing during the quiet period.
He died in 2014 aged 86 years.
Prodifiable African-American writers are famous for their lyrical prose and disaster sounds.
The quarter for the past 90 years shows the first president of the nation, George Washington, on the one hand and the eagle on the other.
The new quarter shows Washington on one side and Angelou on the other side.
“Every time we re-design our currency, we have the opportunity to say something about our country – what we value, and how we develop as a community,” said US Finance Secretary Janet Yellen.
“I am very proud that these coins celebrate the contribution of some of the most extraordinary women in America, including Maya Angelou.” Recipients of more than 30 honorary titles, Angelou read “at morning credit” at the 1992 inauguration of former President Bill Clinton.
Angelou reading marked the first time an African-American woman wrote and presented poetry at the inauguration of the president.
In 2010, Barack Obama was awarded Angelou Medal of President Freedom, and he was the recipient of the 2013 literine award, the National Book of Honorary Award for the contribution to the literary community.
The American Women’s Quarter Program also features: Sally Ride, the first American woman in space and Wilma Mankiller, the main head of the first women of Cherokee, among others.
Nina Oterero Warren, the leader of the new Mexican vote and Anna May Wong, Chinese American film star.
Yellen also signifies support to recognize the former slave and abolitionist Harriet Tubman in US currency.
Obama launched the project to put the face of the Tubman on the $ 20 bill but stopped under the administration of Donald Trump.
