Gurgaon: More than a month after the council board in the city has asked questions about the performance of consultants, Mayor Madhu Azad has directed additional city commissioners to submit their evaluation reports.
This report will also mention work hired by consultants, salaries and other facilities provided to them by MCG.
The mayor has also called a consultant meeting and MCG officials on September 6 to review their performance based on the report, which will be submitted to the Mayor.
“The board members discussed this problem with me after a home meeting.
They bring my attention that many consultants don’t work efficiently.
We will first review their performance and make a decision,” Azad said.
The board members gave rise to a problem in a home meeting held on July 31.
The council members say consultants do not work efficiently even though the civil body pays high salaries.
At present, there are 11 consultants working in several Civic’s body departments.
MCG officials said that the performance of the last years will be reviewed first and then the decision about whether they will be stopped from the service or maintained will be taken.
Civic’s body, after the last home meeting, has stopped the services of three consultants who quoted poor performance.
While two consultants worked in the Horticulture Department, someone worked with the Civic body sanitation department.
“Most consultants delay our files without valid reason because our development work is suffering.
We have a technical wing and have efficient officers such as the main engineers, shared commissioners and other officers to make estimates and supervise development work.
The majority of consultants have retired from their fields -Masing.
They take a big salary and become a financial burden for MCG.
Even if we want to hire a consultant, we must give you the opportunity to youth, “Mahesh Dayma said, council member number 30.
