MySuru: City Corporation has destroyed the disputed traffic island in MathRumandali Junction following the controversy over the replacement of names and installations.
Lines erupted after two groups began to demand the authority of the citizenship to give the name of the circle after Dialit the BR Ambedkar and Poet Laureate Kuvempu Poet.
In the first week of December, some residents tried to install the bronze statue of Ambedkar in a circle, but the authorities of citizenship and police denied permissions, which lead to protests in the area.
To end further problems, the authorities, after holding discussions with both groups, took steps to remove bending and destroy the circle on Thursday.
Can be remembered that in mid-September, the citizenship authority had prevented the installation of the final actor statue of Wisnuvardhan by his fans in Wisnuvardhan Park which is located near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple in Mysuru Palace North Gate.
Palanetra to the toy of all communities and religions to live in Peace and harmony in the city.
“We don’t want people to collide in the name of caste and religion.
There was a request from two groups to change the name Junction MathRumandali after two major personalities.
To overcome this problem, after discussion with community leaders, residents and MLA local, we destroyed the intersection,” he said .
Seeing that there was no dispute to establish statues in other circles in the city, the Mayor said officials saw developing a high-tech intersection in a prominent place in all 65 wards that came under MCC.
“So the high-tech intersection will be developed in MathRumandali Junction at a cost of around Rs 2.5 Crore in a few months,” he said.
MCC, during the council meeting in 2000, has named Kurubarahalli’s intersection (circle quarter jockey) after a friest fighter of the 18th century Sangolli Rulanna.
“However, recently several organizations have installed the statue of Sangolli Rulanna at the intersection.
When the situation in the country is still a tense of criminals who damaged the statue of Rulanna in Besagavi, MCC has not made a decision about this problem,” said a senior MCC official to Ti.
However, residents notify TOI that there are quite a lot of big personality in and around the city.
“Instead of struggling to put up new statues, people have to use funds to improve and maintain the statues of their existing leaders.
This will reduce the burden on the PKS.
The resulting funds can also be used to help poor children financially as preaching by all major personalities, “Chandrashekar, a resident of Paduvarahalli, close to MathRumandali Junction
