MCC collects $ € 133 record in property tax

Mysuru: Even though there are covid limits, MCC has reported a collection of RC 133 Crore property taxes in the last nine months of FY 2021-22, the highest in recent years.
In the past three years, Civic’s body has collected property taxes RS 114 at an average of every year.
There are more than 1.83 lakh properties in the city.

Even so, MCC collects this highest property tax.
The main reason for noting property tax collection for this year is a collection of arrears from property taxpayers, MCC’s income official said.
“Because many people were affected by past pandemic, MCC did not force anyone to pay delayed contributions.
However, MCC focused on collecting arrears from cinemas, wedding spaces, hospitals, schools and government buildings and it helped the Civic body,” Commissioner said MCC Laxmikanth Reddy.
In addition to these steps, an extension of 5% of rebates for taxpayers for several more months without punishment, intensification of tax collection drives in all nine zon offices, drive car tax collection, door door door by income inspector, hard action against defraugters, well The payment of online and offline tax mode initiated by MCC also helped record tax collection, he said.
“MCC can produce more income if it is focused on tax collection from income layout because more than 50,000 properties are abandoned from the tax net.” Former Mayor Arif Hussein said.
