MCC Drive To Stop Water Supply to Defraugters Draw

Mysuru: In an effort to crack down on the bill, MySuru City Corporation (MCC) has decided to stop drinking water supplies and disconnect their connection to the underground drainage network (UGD).
However, the proposal has criticized sharply from the Mayor of Sunanetra Palanetra, which has shown that such an action is a violation of human rights.
The drive was launched at 65 wards that fell under the MCC jurisdiction in the example of the Civic Agency’s Commissioner G Lakshmikantha Reddy.
The MCC Commissioner shows that the Civic Agency reached Rs 195 Crore in contributions from those who have not paid their water bills.
“Some defraugters include commercial and industrial companies,” Reddy added.
He said that, mount contributions had left the MCC gathered with a fiscal crisis, making it difficult to make sure the supply of drinking water regularly to all residents.
“This is what encourages us to make encouragement to stop drinking water supply to be absent,” Reddy said.
MCC has compiled a list of defamms in each of the 65 wards, he added.
“In some cases, the MCC will start strict action to enforce the rules.
We do all efforts to optimize income collection.” Reddy told Tii.
The Mayor of Sunana told TII that the government could not refuse access to clean drinking water to its citizens.
“Stopping the water supply to residents is incorrectly remembering that parents and children in homers must bear the burden.
I will direct the authorities to stop this drive, and we will discuss other ways to recover contributions from households, companies Commercial and industrial at the upcoming MCC Board meeting, “Sunada said.
Chandrakanth, an advocate, said that access to safe and clean drinking water is fundamental rights.
“The right to drink clean water falls under the right to life guaranteed based on Article 21 of the Constitution.
The termination of water services for failure to pay bills is a human rights violation,” Chandrakanth told Toi.
Resident Kuvempunagar K Gangadhar told TII that MCC had to encourage the absence to pay the principal, and take interest in installments.
“Previous initiatives have reduced the burden on the absence.
But a drive to stop inhuman water supply,” Gangadhar said.
