MCC officials visit houses to relieve Kin Covid victims

MySuru: The state and central government has announced compensation for mourning families, who have lost their honor to Covid-19.
However, many families don’t seem too interested in file compensation.
However, the MySuru City Corporation (MCC), the intention to ensure that all families grieve, both below the poverty line (BPL) and above the poverty line (APL), receive the right compensation.
As a result, staff from PKS now knock on the door to compile data on those who have given up on Covid, and ensure that the required applications are submitted to facilitate compensation disbursement.
However, the PKS authorities struggled to trace the victim.
Until now, 2,436 people in all of Mysuru District have surrendered to Covid, the majority of which come from areas under the Jurisdiction of MCC.
Meanwhile, 240 people, despite mysuru residents but died of Covid in other districts, will be compensated by the authorities here.
Many residents claimed to be surprised when MCC officials arrived at the door they tried to find out about their family members who died, and asked if they had received compensation.
“My mother died because Covid was almost two years ago.
There was no right system for us to make sure he received the right treatment in a private hospital.
Because we are classified as APL family, we have never expected to be compensated.
But the MCC authorities collect all information from Private hospital, and gave us 50,000 rs compensation, “said Sudha BS, a citizen of Yadavagiri.
Sudha appreciates MCC’s efforts on the front.
“MCC officials must be rewarded for initiative like that,” he said.
Commissioner MCC G Lakshmikanth Reddy said that more than 1,200 people in the city gave up on Covid.
“More than 800 people have sent documents looking for compensation.
We launch this drive to track the family of everyone who died of Covid.
The door survey to the door was launched one week ago,” Reddy said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Manjunatha Swamy said that checks to be disbursed for the family who died were ready.
“We have provided 1,400 family compensation so far across mysuru district.
In villages too, we have completed all relevant documents.
We have launched a door-to-door survey in Mysuru to ensure all families receive compensation because of them.
In Mysuru City , Very few families have not been tracked, and are compensated, “Swamy said.
