American Fast Food Giant McDonald’s plans to enter Metaverse with the concept of its virtual restaurant.
The company’s new idea of ​​Metaverse brings the virtual and physical world together, where the company is expected to offer real and virtual items that can be sent to people too.
Food giants have submitted several trademarks, 10 precisely, at the Patent Office and the US Trademark (Upto) on February 4 which includes McDonald’s and McCafe.
The lawyer and founder of the Washington trademark, DC-based Gerben property, Josh Gerben has revealed some details about it through his official Twitter handle.
The screen record shared by Gerben shows that fast food chains plan to introduce virtual food and drinks as a downloaded multimedia file that will have artwork, text, audio, video, and non-fungible tokens (NFTS).
Screen recording says: “Operating a virtual restaurant featuring actual and virtual items, operating online virtual restaurants featuring home delivery.” Fast food giants also plan to introduce entertainment services as part of a virtual restaurant, where the company will do it gives “actual concerts and virtual on-line and other events”.
Gerben also told Forbes that the USPTO was likely to approve a trademark.
However, the review process usually takes around eight to nine months.
Does the USPTO approve a trademark or not, but it is certain that McDonald’s has a big plan for Metaverse and most importantly, the company also plans to combine the physical world with the virtual world.
Also, now, we don’t know how the whole physical delivery feature will function.
But from what we can understand is that if people order food in Metaverse, McDonald’s will actually send it to their doorstep, just like that happens with the application.
