MCG Committee to investigate health, sanitation costs

Gurgaon: Corporation of the City of Gurgaon (MCG) Commissioner has formed a committee to investigate expenditures around Rs 183.9 Crore spent on health and sanitation operations from 1 April 2021 to January 15, 2022.
The corporation has spent around the previous RS 186 Crore Fiscal Year.
This means that with two and a half months left this fiscal, MCG has spent almost 98% of the amount used last year.
According to officials, funds have been spent under the management of solid waste, garbage cleaning, sanitation services, construction and management of disassembly waste, gaushala expenditure and animal birth control programs.
The four member committee includes the commissioner with MCG-3 Satish Yadav, Head of Vijay Singla Officer, Salpal Executive Engineer and Siddharth Sankalp Planner Assistant.

The Committee will submit a report within 10 days along with comments / proposals for service improvement,” Read orders issued recently by Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja.
Senior MCG official said the majority of RS 183.9 Crore had been spent on salaries of sanitation workers employed under the Mission of Swachh Bharat.
The Civic’s body has allocated Rs 299.2 Crore for health and sanitation operations for the Fiscal Year 2021-22.
