Gurgaon: MCG will start the census to find out how many trees fall in the jurisdiction.
Officials said The Civic Body also worked on applications where the detailed record of the tree would be uploaded.
Note will be maintained offline too.
At present, MCG has no recorded record of the number of trees within its limits, making it difficult to track how many of them are illegally accessed, officials said.
The tree census will monitor this and the punishment will be worn on the trees that are cut down, they add.
“There is a need to conduct a tree census because some sectors and HSVP sectors join the MCG and corporate jurisdiction are also extended in December 2020.

The applicant, which has been proposed, must provide compensation by depositing charges to plant 10 times the number of trees that are cut down and bear the cost of their treatment for three years.
The proposal was sent to the Department of Urban Local Body Haryana for approval.
