Gurgaon: MCG on Monday ordered a private agent to restore 24 contract sanitation workers fired by him.
The move occurred after the workers held protests outside the Civic’s body office, demanding the work of colleagues and payment of their salaries that had been delayed for about six months.
The corporation also promises workers that salary contributions will be disbursed in two days.
“We held a meeting with MCG officials after protests on Monday.
We raised problems such as disbursing irregular salaries and disbursement of contract workers by private companies.
Officials agreed to resolve our complaints and ordered the company to restore 24 sanitation workers,” said Gaurav Taak Former student leader, who led the protest of sanitation workers.
“Sanitation workers have given me a list of 54 people.
After verification, I found that only 24 sanitation workers in their list had worked starting April 2020 to June 2021.
24 this worker would be restored and now they can work for us.

A MCG official said that the corporation has opened an escrow account whose salaries will be credited and the contractor will only accept allegations of their services.
