Gurgaon: acting on the command of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to eliminate encroachment from the green belt, the corporation of the city of Gurgaon (MCG) and the Ministry of Forestry will begin inspections throughout the city from Tuesday.
NGT has been on August 6, directed MCG to take action on encroachment on the green belt on both sides of the road at Palam Vihar.
The order came when the court heard a request by Vineet Kumar Yadav, a resident.
“We will eliminate encroachment from green belts throughout the city.
Our team will take inspections at Palam Vihar first,” said Subhash Yadav, Nodal Environmental Officials and Sustainability Wing, MCG.
“This exercise will be done in phase.
We will check the green belt, eliminate encroachment and then the area fence is correct so they will not be appled again,” he added.
The request also accused of concretizing around trees in the same area violating the 2013 NGT command.
In the trial, the NGT bench led by Chief Justice Adarsh ​​Kumar Goel said it had directed concrete removal in a 1 meter tree radius so that their growth was not hampered.

A MCG official said the concrete had been moved around the tree along the main road in the city.
“We will also check all trees and remove concrete if their growth is affected,” he added.
Meanwhile, a senior official from the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority said they had received complaints about encroachment in new sectors and worked towards the solution.
“We will conduct a survey of the area and will soon erase encroachment,” the official said.
