MCG to investigate C & D 50CR waste fraud by the PVP company

Gurgaon: The four member committees have been formed by the City Commissioner to investigate alleged irregularities in the collection, transportation and disposal of construction and disassembly (C & D) waste by private companies hired by the Civic Agency in 2019.

Officials said the probe panel was formed by Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja followed the instructions from the Department of Urban Local Agency.
Allegations of irregularities were revealed after an activist RTI submitted a complaint, accusing mcg officials and currently to be kind with private companies in approving increasing bills.

“Executive-SBM engineers will provide required documents and notes to the committee mentioned above.
The Committee will examine all aspects of this problem and submit detailed reports within 10 days,” read orders issued by Ahuja.
The MCG commissioner did not respond to a recurring call and message on the magnitude of alleged corruption.
However, a RTI activist has accused that the work of private companies is not monitored by the residential supervisory committee, and wrongly shows the disposal site in zone 1 and 2 when they should be a basi waste plant or other site.

Activists also accused at the MCG meeting in February last year, senior officials said they did not need to include invoices in the measurement book and that the bill delivered by private companies was enough to make a payment.

However, a MCG official was nicknamed unfounded allegations.
“There are GPS records of vehicles that carry C & D waste, slip verified from the weighing scale and all other data to be maintained.
The newspapers will be submitted during the probe,” the official said.
