Gurgaon: The Association of Welfare Residents (RWAS) in the city has protested the municipal corporation for Gurgaon (MCG) decision to take back the responsibility of their neighborhood garden maintenance and discuss it to the Environment Committee.
At a house meeting held on Saturday, the council members raised strong objections to the maintenance of the park by Rwas and unanimously agreed to the decision.
The board members said that the responsibility of the garden maintenance and community centers was given to Rwa because there was no ‘home’ at that time.
They added that they were selected and responsible representatives to people due to lack of maintenance in the park and community centers.
Madhu Azad’s Mayor directed MCG officials to take action on the decision within two days.
At present, there are around 800 parks throughout the city and they are maintained either by the Rwas or Environmental Committee, which basically consists of 8-10 members, including local council members, MCG officials, residents and regional experts.
Rwas said that these parks will now be ignored because some parks under the committee of the ward are in poor condition.
“In many wards, the dubious ward committee has been formed without triggering RWA’s selected representatives.
Most of the environmental committees consist of family members of Board members, which raises serious questions about their intentions.
This is a tactic to seize native stakeholders rights ( Citizens), to maintain their park.
This will only encourage corruption and hide errors by forming questionable environment committees.
In addition, they do not have the services behind their request as a park managed by the Committee of the ward is in very bad conditions, “said Lalit Suraj Bhola, Secretary General of Rwa (Sector 9a).
RWA protested the movement and warned to take the matter to court.
RK YADAV, President of Rwa from Sector 46, said: “This environmental committee does not have legal status and does not have registration.
They have members without interest in the maintenance of the park.
They give back to MCG employees to get access to funds without checks, which can Causing Armenyropiation.
These committees must be dissolved earliest.
“Adding that RWA is a chosen and registered body, said Yadav,” we provide income tax and work for the welfare of the population in a transparent way.
