Vijayawada: A fourth medical student died while seven others, including three girls, injured after their car traveled in the canal near the Adarsh Nagar area in Bapatla, in the Guntur district, on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as B Srinidhi Reddy (22), the original population of L B Nagar in Hyderabad.
Eight students, including three girls, studied in private medical colleges in Vijayawada, went to Suryalanka beach, to watch the sunrise from the sea.
The fishermen saved other students in Charthey starting at 1:30 a.m.
and reached Suryalanka around 3am.
Because there were no entries to the beach at night, the marine police guarding the beach asked them to leave the area.
Because they were not allowed to enter the beach, the students headed to Vijayawada around 4:45 a.m.
Srinidhi Reddy, who drives a sports utility vehicle, cannot negotiate the curve and finally regarding the electricity pole along the way.
The car plunged into the canal after hitting an electric pole.
Srinidhi Reddy died at that place because he was seriously injured.
A group of fishermen watched the car fall into the canal and hurried to save them.
They attract students from the car.
After receiving information from fishermen, the police rushed to the place and shifted the injured to the hospital for treatment.
Bapatla Rural Inspector K Srinivas Reddy said that fishermen were not present in place, there would be more victims.
He said that a case was registered.
Further investigation is underway.
