Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Friday frowned in builders who were imprisoned by Yusuf Lakdawala for saying he would consider his advice to explore mediation to secretly resolve the dispute with his second wife only after he got a guarantee.
“Tell him not to put the condition in court that if he was released with a guarantee, he would consider.
This is as good as placing conditions in court to take the guarantee application,” said the praanna judicial bench Varale and Nitin Borrow.
His wives Sabina submitted a request for police protection and to bend firmly against him by the son-in-law of Lakdawala.
On July 28, HC directed Arthur Road prison to regulate it to notify the advocate of his children Asadali Mazgaonwala if he was willing to choose mediation to secretly resolve the dispute with Sabina.
“The guarantee application is waiting and if it is released with a guarantee, it will be in a position to explore the mediation,” said Mazgaonwala.
The judges allowed Mazgaonwala to take “explicit instructions” from the Lakdawala.
