Pune: Police Bharati Vidyapeth on Tuesday arrested a medical tressor for allegedly installing two spy cameras in the service quarter of two female colleagues.
A team led by Senior Inspector Jagannath Kalasaskar and Inspector Sangeeta Yadav from Police Bharati Vidyapeth took the suspect, a resident of Sinhagad Road, detained.
The police have registered the case below Section 443 (House-Trespass) from the IPC and it acts.
“The suspect and two female doctors are colleagues at a medical college in Dhankawadi and know each other,” said the Kalasaskar.
The suspect has installed two cameras – each in the bathroom (mounted on a light bulb) and bedroom (installed in chargers) – in the service quarter.
The incident arrived at light when one doctor tried to activate the bulb in the bathroom but did not illuminate.
Electrician, who came to help doctors, found a camera.
After the incident, the doctor had registered fir.
Spy cameras have a memory card and battery backup.
“The identity of the suspect was revealed after we studied the recorded record in the camera.
He has turned on one of the cameras and it has caught the record,” Kalasaskar said.
“The police investigated how the professor got the key to enter the female service quarter, unlocked the door, install the camera and then lock up them again,” added the Kalasaskar.
The Kalasascar said, “The suspect has followed complainant colleagues over the past few months without his knowledge and thus installing a spy camera.”
