Ahmedabad: Doctors from six medical colleges managed by the Government and eight Medical & Education Universities (GMers) will carry out unlimited attacks from December 13 to protest salary and press reduction for their other pending demands from the government.
Gujarat Medical Teacher Association (GMTA), who represented the professor and lecturer from six government medical colleges, said in a press statement on Monday that they recently organized demonstrations in Vadodara, Rajkot, Letters, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar to place on their demands of the government.
Over the past few months, the professors have faced salary deductions in the range of Rs 25,000 to Rs 96,000 per month.
The government gave a darling allowance for about five months but decided to attract it, and recover the money paid from the salary of the professors.
“Some demands are very old but still have no response from the government.
CM and the new minister is not aware of our problems, it seems, and therefore we have to take demonstrations in various cities.
The government must stop the appointment of doctors and health workers in a contract and give them a permanent job or rent on the basis of ad hoc.
These demands and others must be fulfilled by the government, “said a GMTA member.
Also, the promotion of many faculty members at GMers Colleges has been delayed for a long time, he added.
GMTA members will carry out unlimited strikes starting December 13 if their demands are not fulfilled and that they will join the doctor at the GMers Colleges service, according to the GMTA press statement.
Earlier this year, GMTA members called their strike when they were convinced by the state government they handled.
Demands include higher non-practitioner allowances in line with the recommendations of the seventh payment commission.
