Rajkot: In a major mileage, the police in the Devbhumi Devbhumi district which was confiscated to cordotics which was prohibited, whose value was expected to be more than RS 300 Crore, on Wednesday.
A total of 19 packages of drugs worth 88 lakh confiscated in the morning while 47 other packages were found later.
The drugs were taken from the sea route from Pakistan to be smuggled to Gujarat from the Dwarka coastal area, a police officer said.
Police sources said that based on specific information, they held back Sajjad Dhosi (44), a Mumbra resident of the Thane District in Maharashtra and found a drug package hidden in his bag.
He brought metamfetamine 6.6 kg and the hero of 11.4kg in three bags, including luggage and school bags.
This seizure is worth Rs 88.2 Crore.
During the interrogation, Dhosi, a vegetable vendor, said he got a drug from Salim Jacob Kara and Ali Jacob Kara, both native to Salaya City near Jamnagar.
When the police stormed their residence, they found 47 other drug packages, the contents were verified by the Forensic Team.
“Dhosi has gone to prison in the previous murder case and Salim Kara has been arrested in the past in the NDPS, the fake currency and the Arm case,” said Rajkot Range IG Sandeep Singh.
