MEERUT: One man was killed and the other sustained a bullet injury in the torso in a struggle over land between cousins in Puthi village in confines of Parikshitgarh police station in Meerut.
Authorities have arrested a couple of people as a probe is still on.
According to authorities, cousins Arvind Kumar and Anil Kumar have been at loggerheads over household property.
What began as a heated debate between them flipped so awful a group headed by Arvind supposedly opened indiscriminate fire through the brawl resulting in a fatality.
“The deceased has been known as Bholu while the other guy, Ashok, has turned into a bullet damage,” said Keshav Kumar, superintendent of police (rural areas).
According to the household, previously the cousins have battled across the property possessed by one of the uncles.
“The cop, that is without a boy, gave his property to nephew Anil and this didn’t go well with Arvind.
They’d clashed in 2016 too,” authorities said.
