Noida / Ghaziabad: The Government of Uttar Pradesh has planned the mega covid-19 vaccination drive on August 3, officials said on Friday.
Ghaziabad plans to manage around 60,000 doses – three times more than current coverage.
Gautam Budh Nagar, meanwhile, has improved the vaccination target of 30,000-40,000 people.
State immunization officer Dr.
Ajay Ghai said: “Apart from Mega Drive, we will try to continue with the same speed in other days in August too.” Ghai said the Mega Drive target will be achieved through a cluster approach.
Under the cluster approach, Ghaziabad was divided into 54 blocks and 568 clusters for vaccination purposes in July.
Overall 9,176 sessions are planned for July but this cannot be fully implemented due to lack of vaccines.
According to the plan prepared in Noida, health officials will make around 150 sessions sites in all districts.
Each site will be given a target to vaccinate 200-250 people.
Also, the number of higher online and walk-in slots will be available for all sessions.
GB Nagar Cmo Dr.
Sunil Sharma said the doctor was undergoing training for Drive-in Lucknow on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad provided the highest number of doses – 30,004 – in the state on Thursday.
Nodal Officer Dr.
GP Mathuria said as many as 144 sessions were conducted at 74 centers in the district to reach the target.
