MEGHALAYA CM seeks to eliminate fear of MLAS on Act livestock Assam

Shillong: Meghalaya’s legislator on Tuesday voiced their concerns at assembly of the preservation of Assam’s livestock action, which had placed restrictions on the movement of livestock to the country, where beef was a staple food and cheap source of protein.
However, the Chairman of Minister Conrad K Sangma told the house that the Government Meghalaya had taken problems related to livestock transportation to the country through Assam and that his colleague had assured that all documents needed by traders would be from Meghalaya.
Sangma said during the recent meeting with Minister Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma regarding the problem of boundaries between countries, problems related to the transportation of livestock also came and that there was “in principle the agreement that all papers would be carried out from the side of Meghalaya, but there was a little non-calm” , which, he said was being resolved.
The Assam government has been asked to ensure the free part of the hassle of livestock to Meghalaya, he said, adding that the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine is in the process of creating an administrative system to ensure legitimate livestock imports from outside the country and also check smuggling.
