Srinagar: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday mentioned the end of the 149-year-old ‘Darbar’ practice as a “insensitive” decision, added that economic and social benefits exceeded the amount of costs incurred for office transfer during the summer and winter.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir have announced that he has entirely turned to the e-office, thus ending the practice of the Biannual Darbar Movement.
Darbar practices move – where administrative functions in Jammu for six months of winter and in Srinagar during the summer – started by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1872 to avoid extreme weather conditions in both regions.
