Chandigarh: Chairman of the Minister of Punjab captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday agreed to attend the New Punjab president’s installation ceremony, Navjot Singh Sidhu, ended speculation that he could boycott the event on Friday.
The minister’s chairman will also accommodate the MLA Party and MPs for tea before Sidhu assumes costs.
Amarinder previously placed a prerequisite that Sidhu had to openly apologize for the ‘personal insult’ tweet before he agreed to meet Sidhu.
The source said that intervention was needed by the Secretary General of AICC Priyanka Gandhi and the party responsible for Punjab Bidds Rawabs with both camps to relieve tension.
It will be ’embarrassing’ for a party if Amarinder decides to get away from the event.
However, the party in the party felt that regardless of his climb, it would be too premature to consider disbursement in the tense Amarinder relationship with Sidhu.
On Thursday afternoon, two of the four presidents of PCC work, Kuljit Singh Nagra and very Singh Gilzian, reached the CM student farm and submitted two invitation letters – one signed by 57-strange MLA and other personal invitations from Sidhu to Amarinder.
After the meeting, Nagra and Gilzian confirmed that the minister’s chairman had agreed to attend the installation ceremony at the Bhawan Congress in Chandigarh.
Shortly after, Raveen Thukral, a media advisor for CM tweeted, “Punjab CM has invited all Punjab Congress Mlaas, a member of Parliament and senior officials in Punjab Bhawan to drink tea at 10 am on Friday.
They will all go to Punjab Congress Bhawan together from there for the installation of the new PPCC team.
