Beijing: The top Communist Party leaders end the main meeting in Beijing by providing important resolutions in the past party, said Media Thursday, which is expected to strengthen President XI Jinping in Chinese history books.
XI, an undeniable leader from the most populous country in the world, has headed for an important plenary of the peak numbers of the party who came to power since Monday in the Chinese capital.
About 400 members of the central committee that strongly passed the Chinese resolution on the “great achievement and historical experience of the struggle of a hundred years of the party”, the third resolution that had occurred in a 100-year history.
The long report calls for upholding the “correct view of the history of the party”, said the official Xinhua news agency, adding that the party has “wrote the most extraordinary epic in the history of the Chinese nation for thousands of years”.
“The Central Committee party calls throughout the party, all troops and people from all ethnic groups to unite closer around the party’s central committee with Comrade XI Jinping as the core, to fully apply the new era of XI Jinping with Chinese characteristics,” the document was read .
This year’s plenary paved the way for the next 20th party congress, where XI is widely expected to be given the third term in the office, securing its position as the most powerful Chinese leader since Mao Zedong.
Analysts said this resolution would help XI support his grip with strength by setting his vision for China ahead of the congress next year.
Ownership of XI has been marked by extensive anti-corruption cracks, repressive policies in areas such as Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong, and an increasingly assertive approach to foreign relations.
He also created a cult leadership that had beaten criticism, dripping rivals and introduced his own political theory – dubbed “Jinping XI’s thinking” – to school students.
Xinhua this week described XI as “no doubt the core character in mapping the direction of history”.
Like all Chinese secret leadership meetings, the four-day plenary has been held behind the closed door.
This event came with the busier of international diplomatic activities.
Beijing and Washington announced the climate companion on the COP26 Summit on Wednesday – in contrast to sparring recently – and XI and US President Joe Biden is expected to hold video conferencing in the near future.
However, XI also warned Thursday against the reopening of the “Cold War era” division in the Asia-Pacific region during a speech on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation summit, with tensions that were ongoing above Taiwan.
“Efforts to draw ideological lines or form small circles on geopolitical land will definitely fail,” he said at a virtual business conference in a thin veiled comment aimed at the United States.
Beijing also reached this week at a visit by members of the US Parliament to rule itself Taiwan, who was seen as China as the territory.
