BANGKOK: The Document of the Leaky Ministry of Health has encouraged calls in Thailand for medical staff inoculated against Covid-19 which will be given an amplifier of the MRNA vaccine, after which includes comments that such a step can do public trust in the Sinovac Biotech vaccine.
Internal memo, which includes various opinions, is reported by local media and is widely distributed on social media.
It was confirmed by the Minister of Health Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul as authentic.
That includes comments from an unnamed official who recommends the authority not give the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine shot for front line health workers, because such a step will “recognize that the synovac vaccine is not effective”.
Thailand has provided a viral vaccine that is inactive Sinovac to most health workers and real-world studies show two doses of 95% effective in reducing mortality and severe symptoms.
This study shows that it is 71% to 91% effective in stopping infections with alpha variants.
Sinovac in China did not immediately respond to a request to comment on the efficacy of the vaccine.
Comments in the leak document encourage calls from leading Thai health experts, including a top medical council official, to give health workers as Pfizer-Bontech Booster Shot.
Hashtag “Give Pfizer to Medical Personnel” is a trend on Thai Twitter with more than 624,000 tweets on Monday.
Karnkawinpone Health Health Opas told reporters that documents were not real, but contrary to the Minister of Health Anutin.
Anutin said the comment on Booster’s shot was “only opinion” and there was an expert panel to regulate vaccine policies.
He said the two doses of Sinovac vaccine were effective and “gave outstandard results”.
Thai experts have urged the government to use various types of coronavirus vaccines to protect the population better.
It relies mainly on the virus virus viruses that are locally produced astrazeneca, while authorities say the Moderna MRNA vaccine will also be available.
Thailand has bought 20 million doses of Pfizer-Bontech vaccine for future shipments and will this month receive 1.5 million doses donated by the United States.
The World Health Organization Experts found the Sinovac vaccine efficacious in preventing Covid-19 in adults under 60 years, but some quality data at risk of serious side effects.
