Thiruvananthapuram: Excise officials Neyyatinakara Range Official on Saturday night arrested a 40-year-old man on a bootleging allegation.
Officials also confiscated six liters of Indian foreign liquor (IMFL) and motorbikes.
The defendant was identified as a shaji from Perumbaloor near Ankode in the village of Perunkadavila.
He was ordered at a relevant cost for Bootleging.
According to excise officials, the defendant was arrested from Ankode where he was seen selling liquor on his motorbike parked next to the road.
He was arrested by the patrol team consisting of excise prevention officers Shaju and Nooju Civil Excise Officer and Harshakumar on Saturday night.
The defendant had bought liquor from various state beverage company outlets and was intended to sell it among Tipler for a higher price, exploiting the high demand for liquor during locking.
He was produced before the court on Sunday after he was returned in custody.
