Thiruvananthapuram: Thampanoor police on Sunday caught a desired man in connection with the case of vehicle theft recorded 16 years ago.
The police identified the defendant as Manoj, 42, from Kankayakulangan near Koliyakode outside the city.
The police said Manoj was the defendant in the case registered at the Thampanoor police station in connection with the alleged motorcycle theft in 2006.
The local court has stated Manoj as desired after he escaped after the case was registered.
He lives in various other districts throughout the state for the past 16 years.
The police arrested him now after the Thampanoor Sanoj inspector received a tip-off regarding his current existence.
He was returned in court custody after arrest.
