Coimbatore: Officials of the Forest Department confiscated 5kg deer meat from a 66-year-old man on Saturday.
Subbaiiah Thekkampatti village near Mettupalayam has found a deer carcass trapped in the fishnet in the Bhavani River, the officials said department.
“The animal was killed by wild dogs and the carcass was washed away on the river Official.
Preficials took subbaiiah to the forest ranger office in Mettupalayam and baking it.
The department applies a fine of RS 25,000 to him.
