New Delhi: A 36-year-old man was recently arrested by CISF officials at Delhi Metro Station for bringing cash in RS 58 lakh in unauthorized allegations, said a senior officer on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Lal Quila Station on October 23 and cash was restored from a bag of someone identified as Raju Ranjan, a local who worked in a plastic factory.
Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) detained men and cash and told the income tax department officials about the incident.
Tax officers, said CISF officers, asked men before calling the owner of Ashok Bansal’s plastic business who lived in Chandigarh.
The owner “failed” to give a satisfying reply to transport cash through his workers and therefore the money was confiscated by the department on Monday, the officer said.
The tax department is investigating this case, he said.
CISF provides counter-terrorist cover to the Delhi Metro network which has more than 155 stations in the national capital area.
