Ahmedabad: A 35-year-old man from the Naranpura area in the city on Tuesday filed a complaint to the police who alleged that the Cybercrooks who posed when the bank officer cheated his father twice from Rs 1.38 lakh in Garb provided a checkbook at the door.
Deep Trivedi, 30, who works with a software development company, said in his book with Naranpura police that his father Arvind Trivedi received a message from his bank for a new checkbook.
After a while, he received a call from someone who introduced himself as a bank officer and assured that he could help him in getting his checkbook on the doorway.
He said other bank officers would call him.
Another man then called and sent weblink to Arvind’s cellphone.
Following the instructions, he downloaded the application, “Anydesk,” where fake bank officials took control of the Arvind device.
In a few seconds, the ‘Bank Officer’ attracted Rs 63,000 from the Arvind Bank account in four transactions.
When Arvind called, the man who said that there were some mistakes and he would get money back.
The man asked Arvind whether he had another single account to give a refund.
Arvind gave him detail from another Ank account.
Cybercrook then pulled Rs 75,000 again and went to communicate.
