Men Dalit kills yourself for land rights

Rajkot: A man Dalit committed suicide near the Dhari Prant office on Wednesday night by consuming poisons.
According to Amreli Police Lakhman Sarikada (48), who died during treatment at night, took extreme steps after the agricultural land was allegedly not mengented by the income department.
Sarikada came on the bus to Dhari Prant Office on Wednesday night, where he consumed several toxic substances.
He was taken to the hospital Dhari first of all from where he shifted to the Amreli civil hospital where he died during treatment, said the police police said that Sarikada’s father received several Land Santhini in Kanda Khambha Taluka Village for cultivation from the District Authority.
The government provides the caste community scheduled without land, some agricultural land for planting.
This land, categorized later as ‘Shree Sarkar’ in 1966, however, was taken back by the government.
The deceased family is still cultivating on the same land but without land ownership rights.
They have struggled to get their rights but for certain reasons, the entry is not listed in the income record.
Police Amreli City registered an accidental case of death and began investigating.
