Coimbatore: A man and his son was hit fatally by the TNSTC City bus (Tamil Nadu State Transport) near Theater Jai Shanthi in Saanallur in Coimbatore on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Gabastian Samuel, 40, from the layout of Kuchi Naidu in Lakshmipuram and his son Prince Gladwin, 8.
His younger son Franklin, 4, suffered minor injuries.
The Traffic Investigation Wing (TIW-Timur) Coimbatore City Police said Samuel worked as a supervisor’s assistant in the garment unit in Tirupur.
His wife worked on Shanthi’s social service near Saanallur.
His older son is studying class III in St Joseph’s Matriculation Middle School on Ondipudur.
His younger sons are UKG students.
The police said Sebastian, his wife and his two sons traveled on motorbikes.

Samuel dropped his wife in his office and continued to drop his older son at school.
When they reached the Jai Shanthi theater on Jalan Trichy, Samuel lost a motorcycle balance.
Sebastian and his older son fell on the right side of the vehicle and was under the rear wheel of the TNSTC bus which was plying between AG Pudur and Irugur.
Both of them died in place.
Franklin fell on the left side of the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
East TIW Inspector (incharge) Saroja and the team rushed to the place and sent a corpse to the College Medical Coimbatore Hospital (CMCH) for Postmortem.
The police registered a case against the bus driver.
