Mumbai: City crime branch on Thursday arrested three Pune residents, including those who summoned senior revenue department officials in Mantalaya on Wednesday and demanded the transfer of an officer by mimicking the sound of NCP Sharad Pawar.
Callers use the spoof application, which indicates that the call comes from South Mumbai South Oak leader NCP.
However, the official who received the call was suspicious and told the police.
A case was registered with the Gamdevi police against an unknown caller under the IPC cheating section, forgery, punishment for trying to commit violations, the destruction of evidence and under the IT Law.
