Bhubaneswar: A man opened fire on pellets from a rifle and killed a wild dog and injured other people in Jagamara below the Khandagiri police limit here on Wednesday because they suspected of killing the two chickens.
Khandagiri police registered a case against the defendant, identified as Pattnik aka Babuna, after receiving complaints from animal welfare clothes.
Source said Babuna was ordered based on part 428 (damage by killing or damaging animals) from IPC and Section 11 Prevention of atrocities on the Animal Law (PCA), 1960.
