New Delhi: Delhi Police have filed beginners after the video appears on social media where a man is said to have heard threatening a Muslim shop keeper to open a biryani shop in the Sant Nagar area here on Saturday’s occasion.
The police said they took Suo Motu’s awareness.
In the video, the defendant introduced himself as Naresh Kumar Suryavanshi, a member of the Bajrang Dal right-wing group.
He heard told the shop workers that Sant Nagar was a Hindu area and threatened them against opening a shop at any festival, the police said.
The shop owner and his workers closed the store immediately after that.
The video was recorded around 9pm on Thursday and then circulated on social media, they said.
After finding it and verifying the facts, a case is registered in Section 295A (intentional and dangerous actions intended to anger the religious feelings of any class by insulting religion or religious beliefs) from the compost of the Burari police, a senior police officer said.
Investigation was ongoing to ensure the identity of the defendant and arrest him, the officer said.
