Beleagavi: A man with a machete entered a Catholic Church here on Saturday afternoon, triggering panic in the community.
This is the first example of such threats in recent years, a member of the Church said.
A man, his thirties, walked to the church and threatened Francis D’Souza, who was responsible for the church.
Imam told Stoi: “When I was scared and running out, he followed me.” He filed a police complaint about the alleged intrusion.
The man then walked out of the complex with machetes.
City police have deployed security to protect the church.
Recently, the police had asked Protestants not to pray at the Community Hall considering the alleged attack by the right-wing organization.
