LONDON: Supported by snacks tucked away in their helmets, around 240 savings worked in shifts for more than two days to help free a cave explorer who lost his footing and fell into one of the deepest English holes.
Forming a human chain, the savior of at least eight teams in the UK raised the 40-year-old man on Monday to the entrance of Ogof Ffynnon Ddu, also known as the Black Spring Cave, 54 hours after he fell.
“The Caver is very unlucky here.
He is an experienced cave, the right cave.
And it is a problem putting his legs in the wrong place,” said Peter Francis, spokesman for the South Wales cave reservation team and mid.
” He is not in a dangerous part of the cave, it’s just something that moves from below it.
