Chennai: A man killed his wife by slitting his throat and then tried to commit suicide near Walajabad on Sunday.
He was then saved and hospitalized, police said.
Defendant, Balamguran, 27 of Sivagiri, Tirunelveli District, have been married to Anu, 21, last year.
The couple has nine-month girls.
Anu recently learned that Balamurugan was married to another woman and father of two children.
The police said he continued to harass him for money because he was unemployed.
His wife was recently Left his house and moved to his mother’s place.
On Sunday night, Baisguran came to calm his wife to stay with him, but he refused.
In the argument that occurred, he took out the knife and sliting his throat, resulting in his death.
