Mumbai: A 55-year-old man died after he was under the Best Bus (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply) the bus he tried to catch in Suburban Goregaon, a police official said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon near Goregaon Bus Depot, he said, adding that the bus driver was arrested on negligent driving charges.
“The deceased, was identified as Vasant Ghondu Ghole, lost his balance while trying to catch a bus that ran and was under the rear wheel.
He was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where he was declared dead,” the official said.
Senior Inspector Anil Waghmare from the Vanrai Police Station said the best bus driver, Ulhas Mane, has been held and ordered under the IPC section, including 304-A (causing death from negligence) and 279 (rash driving).
“We have scan CCTV recordings near the place and further investigation into progress,” he added.
