Theni: A 48-year-old man was arrested by the All-Woman Theni police in Tamil Nadu on Thursday for raping his daughter after a DNA test confirmed that he was the father of his child.
Previously, the police had arrested a young man after the girl alleged that he had rated and impressed him.
However, the DNA test proved that the young man was innocent and another test carried out with the girl’s father proved him guilty.
The defendant, who claimed to be a local priest, came from the DevadanTi region of the district.
He and his wife separated a few years ago because of differences.
The 19-year-old son of the 17-year-old daughter lives with their mother in the Dindigul district.
In February this year, the girl was treated in medical colleges and hospitals where she gave birth to a baby boy.
Based on complaints submitted by the girl that relatives of the 22-year-old man have raised their pregnancy, the All-Woman Theni police ordered youth under Section 4 (penetration for sexual attacks) from the protection of children from sexual violations (Pocso) , Catch it and put it in prison under Judicial supervision.

The DNA test revealed that it was his son, police said.
“After tracking this case for three months, we arrested the Father.
