JAMSHEDPUR: Gajendra Singh (51), a resident of the subhash colony in Mango here and the second failure of his kidney failed, has begged EutanAsia from the Jharkhand government after he failed to obtain an objection certificate (NOC) to receive the kidney from his wife, Durga.
Singh was in dialysis since 2019 and claimed that he ran from the pillar to wear for eight months to get NOC from the government that would allow his wife to durga to donate one of his kidneys.
The son of the couple, Mohit, a civil service candidate studying in New Delhi, has returned home to help his parents who are struggling.
Out of work for the past two years, Singh said he and Mohit went to Ranchi many times to meet officials of the Ministry of Health, medical education and family welfare to secure NOC.
“We have NOC from the office of the Minister of Health Banna Gupta in Jamshedpur but has no signature or seal,” he said.
He begged, “The doctor at the CMC Hospital in Vellore where I get treatment has been suggested for the initial transplant.
I have saved Rs 8.50 lakh for kidney transplant surgery after selling valuables and gold ornaments from my wife.
I have not approached the government for Funds.
I only need NOC.
“Singh added,” If the government can’t give me the NOC, it must allow me to end my life.
” Singh is a private sector employee and struggles to run his family, which consists of his wife and three children.
