Vadodara: Karjan police hold a man to ask him in connection with the damage to the Saint Rang Statue Avdhoot Maharaj on the banks of the Narmada River in Nareshwar.
The statue was found broken early on Sunday morning and the incident was reported to the police.
The police began an investigation into this matter, but had not registered the offer.
Police Inspector Karjan Ma Patel said that the investigation caused the person to be detained.
“He used to live in the area, but lost after the incident.
We asked him about the damage to the idol,” Patel said.
The source said that the man himself was a worshiper and used to worship idols.
It is also believed that he has learning disabilities.
While he claimed to damage the statue, he claimed that it happened accidentally.
He was asked further to know the reality.
