Pune: A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Pune District for allegedly defeating the company’s distribution company technician and forcibly took him home to restore electricity supply.
Prakash Darekar, an Ambi village resident at Maval Tehsil, was ordered under the IPC 353 section (assault or criminal to prevent public servants from the release of their duties) and 363 (kidnapping) on Monday.
Pravin Jambhulkar, an employee of the state electricity distribution company Maharashtra (MSEDCL) was on his way to correct the power supply problem near Talegaon on Saturday afternoon when the intercepted vehicle, said Kondai Walcoli Sub-Inspector of the Talegaon Dabhade police station.
“He beat Jambhulkar with a stick.
Then he took him to his house and forced him to recover the power supply,” the official said.
Jambhulkar then filed a complaint and the Darekar was arrested, said the inspector.
