Bahraich: Two children were killed by leopards in a separate incident reported on Wednesday from the Motipur Range of Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary above.
The bodies of children eaten were partially restored by the forest team on Wednesday morning.
Division Forest Officer (DFO) Akash Deep Badhawan said that Ramtej (9), a boy who lived in Dingang Sikkha Pakadiya Village in Motipur played on the courtyard when he was attacked and dragged by leopards.
Then, the forest team restored a body that was persecuted from the bushes.
In the second incident, Aditya (4), a resident of Jhala Village played outside the house when he was attacked and taken away by a wild cat.
Only the head recovered later, said the Ministry of Forestry officials.
The police have sent children’s bodies for postmortem.
Relief immediately Rs 10,000 has been given to the family and compensation of RS 5 Lakh will be given to their direct relatives.
Four forest teams traced leopards and cages were being installed to trap it.
It can be noted that there are 86 villages adjacent to the Sugar Wildlife of the Catharniaghat where 25 villages have faced attacks by animals in the past.
Badhawan said that the human-conflict was prevalent in 25 villages adjacent to the catholic wildlife asylum and villages being warned regularly to keep themselves safe from wildlife attacks.
The Forestry Department tries best to make the villagers of conscious and patrols ongoing regularly.
