Abu Dhabi: Mercedes has filed two appeals for the victory of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Max Verstappen over Lewis Hamilton on Sunday.
Mercedes is a caring safety car procedure which resulted in Verstappen overtaking Hamilton in the last lap that panicked to reach the world championship.
“Mercedes has protested ‘on the classification set at the end of the competition’, related to alleged violations of Article 48.8 and 48.12 from FIA sports regulations,” Formula One Tweet.
Hamilton has slid into a victory, his eighth world title seems to be in a bag.
However, four laps from the end, Nicholas Latifi hit Williams, took out a safety car and pushed Verstappen to fresh tires.
When racing continued for the 58th lap and cover, Verstappen illuminated the past Hamilton to take the plaid flag and the title.
