Meta Facebook parent company brings 3D avatars to Instagram stories and direct messages (DMS).
The launch of the new 3D avatar, Meta said, was the first step to make metaverse reality.
The company defines Molaverse as a digital world that is interconnected, one that bridges VR and AR, other than a more familiar platform like your cellphone and computer.
Avatar offers more ways to express yourself.
Meta has added a new face shape and aids for people with disabilities.
It also tweaked the skin shader to make an avatar more authentic.
Meta also launched 3D avatars updated to Facebook and Messenger.
With 3D avatars, users can appear as their virtual self across the application through stickers, bait posts, Facebook profile images, and others.
The 3D Avatar is currently available for users in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The company said that the user’s avatar will automatically enter the third dimension as part of this update.
“Since expressing our long-term vision of Metaverse in Connect 2021, we continue to build the evolution of the next social technology, build towards the future where you can sit in the same room with loved ones who are actually thousands of miles away or work naturally with talented teams which covers the world, “Aigerim Shorman, General Manager Meta for Avatar and Identity, wrote in a blog post.
As mentioned above, the 3D avatar is the company’s initial step in realizing its navigating dream which has become the main priority of Meta for a long time.
As part of the previously preview of the metavies, the previous meta showed a codec avatar demo and real-time environment rendering at the Facebook Connect event in October last year.
