Bengaluru: Difficulty because the job of tunneling Namma Metro seems to never end for occupants of Shivajinagar.
On Monday night, porridge flowed to the house in Shivaji Road near the Government VKO School, reportedly because of underground work.
Mohasin Samad, the affected population, told TOI: “We are a family consisting of five years, which includes different 58-year-old women who have oxygen support.
The floor of the house is flooded.
Most of the goods, including furniture, have been damaged.
Forced to switch to a neighbor’s house.
It’s hard to deal with a nightmare situation like a pandemic.
We don’t accept the intimacy of this work from BMRCL or contractor.
“After the incident, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) visited the place.
“The leak occurred at 11pm on Monday.
Porridge has been cleaned and needed grouting has been done.
Residents have been transferred safely.
Leaks to the surface are caused by the strata of sandy sandy soils that are not consolidated in this area,” said Public Relations officer BMRCL BL Yeshwanth Chavan.
This is the second incident in the same location in less than a week.
On Wednesday, water flows to the ground floor of a three-story building on Jalan Shivaji.
In the past too, damage to the building and the road cave had been reported during tunneling work.
Nafoeesa Khan, a social activist, said: “These regular things occur in this area.
BMRCL must conduct surveys to identify vulnerable and weak buildings.
Most of the population of locality has a night without sleep because they are afraid of something wrong.
BMRCL must have Establish a committee with members consisting of residents, contractors and engineers.
They must rehabilitate residents until the work ends.
“No need to panicBMRCL take all precautions.
“We have identified an unsafe structure in the area faced by tedious tunnel work.
We take all efforts to minimize the difficulties caused by the population.
No need to panic,” Public Relations BMRCL officers.
