Metro has not reached the pre-covid daily average

Chennai: It’s been more than four months since the Metro train service continues in Chennai after locking up.
But the daily patronage has not touched one lakh.
According to the numbers released by CMRL, an average of 95,786 people use services every day in October take a monthly count to 29.7 lakh.
Although this was a boost from September when 26.9 Lakh people traveled, the average daily had not touched the pre-covid level of 1.16 lakh and was not close to the expected based buildout of 7.76 lakh.
In October, a total of 44,716 people traveled using the QR code ticket system, almost 16 lakh people used a smart card while the rest bought a token.
Because the service was continued on June 21, a total of 462 passengers were arrested and punished for not wearing or wearing a mask properly.
