Veracruz: Grace Strengthens to Category Two Storms Friday When Barracks towards Mexico for the second time, triggered flood warnings and landslides in the mountains in East Mainland.
The Hurricane first hit the Yucatan Mexican Peninsula on the previous day near the city of Tulum, famous for Maya Temple, soaking a series of Caribbean coastal resorts.
After losing strength, Grace Whipped wind returned up to 100 miles (160 kilometers) per hour on Friday, while moving over the Gulf of Mexico, according to the US National Cyclone Center (NHC).
It increased for a storm in category two – second lowest on a five-level Saffir-Simpson scale – while approaching the veracruz eastern state.
The storm warning applies to the coastline that stretches from Puerto Veracruz to Cabo Rojo, where the storm is expected to land at night.
At 0000 GMT, Grace centered around 105 miles northeast of the main port Veracruz, and headed west to the beach at a speed of 10 mph.
“Strengthening is estimated until the grace makes a landing, with a weak weakening expected as a mercy moving into the interior above the Central Mexican Mountains,” NHC said.
The authorities in the Veracruz state said they had prepared 200 storm shelter and planned to open 2,000 other if necessary.
Governor Veracruz Cuitlahuac Garcia warned the risk of flooding and landslides as storms to cause heavy rain in the mountainous region.
Mexican Armed Forces Members are ready to use if you need to protect residents, said National Coordinator of Civil Protection Laura Velazquez.
Authorities close most of the highway in Veracruz, which is crossed by many rivers.
Businesses along the coast are packaged in preparation for storms and residents secured their homes after hoarding canned foods and water.
Workers boarded the window to protect shops and fishermen to bring their boats to land.
“We will spend a lot of days without fishing – almost a week,” said Isabel Pastrana Vazquez, Head of the Veracruz Fisheries Federation Cooperative.
“About 35,000 fishermen will be affected because we cannot come out.
We will have swell and rain,” he said.
NHC warns that heavy rainfall in Mexico until the weekend “will produce significant flash and urban flooding and landslides.” “Dangerous surge storm” will be accompanied by “big and destructive waves” near the beach, he said.
As a storm approached the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico earlier this week, more than 6,000 tourists and residents were evacuated to a storm shelter throughout the Southeast Country Quintana Roo.
The storm passed the coastline of Riviera Maya without losing life, said Governor Quintana Roo Carlos Joaquin.
He said electricity was almost fully restored throughout the state.
The storm overthrew several trees and caused most of the mild damage in Quintana Roo and Yucatan neighboring countries.
The authorities in Mexico City warn that storms can also bring heavy rains in the capital for the weekend.
